Are You “Searching?”

When I was 26 years old, I started a new chapter of my life and labeled it, “searching.”

This is it, I thought. This is when I figure out all the answers to WHY I’m unhappy.

I knew I wasn’t where I wanted to be in life and angry that my reality didn’t match the blueprint I had in my mind for what it all SHOULD look like.

I blamed anything and everything I could for my troubles, of course, except for the main culprit – ME.

So, like putting a band-aid on a broken leg, I packed up my bags and moved as far as I could get from Miami – Hong Kong.

In reality, it was a desperate measure to run away from the fact I felt lost inside.

After two years of constant “searching” outside of myself – though excessive travel – I arrived back in Miami realizing that all the answers are WITHIN if only I had the courage and the tools to have a hard look in the soul’s mirror.

Mindfulness and meditation provided me the structure, techniques, and understanding of what is essential and important for a happy content life. It took years more, but nevertheless, I found my answers to happiness.

What are you looking for in life that could simply be inside you all along?

A quote to reflect on:

“Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck.
